Paste a sheet, pick a view

Paste a publish link, or a sheet link straight from the address bar, then switch between the three reader views in the macro settings. The sheet is our own sample.

Getting sheets onto pages

With or without a Smartsheet connection.

Start with a Smartsheet link

Paste a Smartsheet link into the editor and it becomes the macro. A publish link works straight away with no Smartsheet connection. Connect your account to pick sheets from a searchable list and use the interactive table.

Questions, answered from the docs

Each answer links to the page it comes from.

Do readers need a Smartsheet account?

Not for the read-only and editable sheets, which show Smartsheet’s published view to anyone with the link. The interactive table reaches readers without a Smartsheet account once the author sets up viewer access; until then they see a Connect panel instead.

Who can change how a sheet is shared?

Seeing the sharing panel, publishing, removing a publish link and setting up viewer access all need Confluence edit permission on the page and a connected Smartsheet account. Removing a publish link stops it working everywhere, not just on that page.

Which Smartsheet plans and regions are supported?

Connecting an account needs a Smartsheet plan with API access. Sheets hosted in Smartsheet’s EU region can be embedded from their links, but EU accounts can’t be connected for browsing, publishing or interactive tables.

Do embedded sheets appear in page exports or on Capable Sites?

No. The macro adds nothing to Confluence PDF or Word exports, and it has no static rendering on a site published with Capable Sites.

We use the earlier Smartsheet for Confluence app. Will our macros still work?

Yes. The app keeps the earlier Connect app’s key and every one of its macro parameters, so existing macros carry over.

Is it included in Capable for Confluence (All-in-One)?

No. Smartsheet for Confluence is bought as a separate app on the Atlassian Marketplace.
